Before transitioning to education in 2022, I built a decade-long career in accounting and finance across diverse fields (2007-2022). This experience equipped me with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset that I am excited to bring to the classroom. My expertise in financial reporting, personal and business taxation, employee benefit plan audit and administration, and data analysis provides a practical, real-world context for mathematical concepts. Additionally, my experience using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to automate complex tasks provided me with a foundational understanding of programming logic as I work towards my Computer Science certification. My background in creating efficient, logic-based solutions for data manipulation directly translates to the skills I aim to teach my students. This blend of business and technical experience uniquely positions me to demonstrate the direct connection between students' coursework and future career opportunities. My goal is to move students beyond simple calculation and teach them how to think critically about real-world data, empowering them to become better decision-makers and engaged, productive citizens, and to develop the practical, transferable skills employers value in today’s workforce.
